Default Two computer w/ same name but different ip's

I have two computers with the same name but two different ip addresses. I have checked my dhcp table in my router and only one compter is shown with that computer name. I know that it is not an intruder. I have gone as far as unhooking my dsl modem before i boot my computer to be sure that it is not an intruder. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the computer that is not in my network. I can not get rid of it because its status shows online. At one point i did assign that bogus computer with an ip address, and the later changed it to server assigned, but the bogus computer keeps showing up.
Can anyone help !!!

Hi picardone,

Load Services and stop the "Pure Networks Network Magic Service" on all computers. If you are also using Net2Go in Network Magic, stop that Service as well.

Now using Explore, from the standpoint of Windows XP, locate networklib in this folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Pure Networks\Network Magic

and delete the file.

Reboot the computers and check operations.

Hi picardone,

Problem: I forgot to tell you to delete the file from your computers, not just from the one computer.

In other words. After deleting the file. Do not reboot. Shutdown the computer and go to the next computer and do the same. On the last computer, reboot that computer. Once that computer is booted, go to the other computers and boot them back up.

Also, don't keep the Default Name of My Home Network or My Network. Give your Network a custom name.
